This project was made possible through the generous support of the Heritage Keepers programme, and we sincerely thank them for their contribution. Heritage Keepers is a national initiative led by Burrenbeo Trust in Kinvara, County Galway. It supports schools and community groups in exploring, protecting, and celebrating their local heritage.

Our Next Event

Launch of the Inniscarra Historical Society iCAN archive website

This will take place in the Ellis Room upstairs in the Ballyanly / Inniscarra Community Centre, on Tuesday 18 August, starting at 8.00 pm.

However, we are encouraging members and guests to come along between 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm with any documents or photographs that they would like to share with our iCAN archive website.

We will have the facility in the Ellis Room to scan these documents or photographs, which you will take back home with you. We do not retain anything that you give us to scan. In this way your heritage will become part of the Inniscarra recorded heritage.

With your help we will then write a short post / article about your photographs or documents for publication on our iCAN archive website.

You do not need to be named. It is not necessary for you or your family to be named in the post /article if that is what you would like.

The Launch of our iCAN websiteOur iCAN website will be launched by John Sheehan of the Department of Archaeology, University College Cork. He is a specialist in the Vikings and in medieval archaeology.

John is a local resident and has been involved with Inniscarra Historical Society in the past.

There will also be a short talk about our iCAN website.

We look forward to welcoming you on Tuesday 18 August
